Fixed Networks and Services

In the field of developing networks and electronic communications services, we aim to address the needs of complex development of electronic communications infrastructure and related services of information society for public sector and undertakings operating on the electronic communications market.

We prepare and solve projects, studies, analyzes, strategies, methodologies and forecasts of development of electronic communications, focusing on the implementation of new technologies, services, processes and procedures, for example:

• broadband networks and services,
• next generation access networks,
• critical infrastructure,
• smart sensor networks,
• quality of service.

We are developing technical specifications for network resources, services and technology procedures, preparing or updating new or existing technical regulations for the establishment, operation, management and maintenance of electronic communications networks and services.

Reference Projects

• Developing next generation access networks - monitoring, evaluation and comparison of regulatory and technological point of view in the context of European Union member states and the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD).
• Critical infrastructure for electronic communications - analysis of risks and specification of possible threats and mutual effects, determining sectional and sectorial criteria for the identification and classification of critical infrastructure elements.
• The directions of further development of universal service in electronic communication - monitoring of European views on the extent and availability of universal service (US) in electronic communications, identifying barriers while providing US with a focus on users with disabilities and drafting measures for more effective application of US principles in Slovakia.
• Quality of broadband services - specifying measurable indicators of quality of service and methodology of evaluation of selected quality indicators for public electronic communications services in fixed networks, mobile networks and for internet access.
• Broadband access for electronic communications services - application of the principles of European policy on broadband in the Slovak Republic, analysis of the possible impact of the revision of the regulatory framework for electronic communications on development of broadband access in Slovakia and research of applicability of available broadband access infrastructure at regional level.
• Convergence of ICT networks and services in the communication infrastructure of the Slovak Republic - drafting a concept of converged infrastructure of telecommunications and IP network as part of information and communication infrastructure for public and private sector.
• Testing services for the protection of Internet access - monitoring and evaluation of methods and effectiveness of protection of internet users against undesirable content.
• Development of NGN technologies for public networks - the status and direction of technology development of next generation networks (Next Generation Networks - NGN) of electronic communications networks used for the provision of publicly available electronic communications services and the preparedness of the Slovak Republic for their inclusion, reviewing the normative basis for the development of NGN technologies.
