Main information about project

The project deals with the research of mutual influence of broadband LTE networks and digital terrestrial TV broadcasting DVB-T/DVB-T2, operating in very close frequency bands.

The implementation of the project outcomes will allow the prevention of future necessary high costs incurred to eliminate the mutual interference of these systems and its consequences which will be useful for general public, telecom operators, terrestrial digital TV network providers in Slovakia and neighboring countries, as well as broadcasters of TV program services.

The achieved results of the project will contribute significantly to the effective planning and construction of new telecommunication LTE800 network, whose operation will enable the development of new mobile services based on broadband access to the internet.

The main objectives of the project are:
  1. Identification of areas of the Slovak Republic, which may result in degradation of the reception of DVB-T/-T2 signal as a result of the introduction of LTE800 transmission.
  2. Establishment the functional public information system to identify the risk of interference of terrestrial DVB-T/-T2 system.
  3. Proposals on measures to prevent unwanted interactions between LTE800 and DVB-T/-T2 systems and solutions leading to elimination of problems in practical operation.
